Band Design
This band is 8mm wide all the way around, and it’s made of 14k yellow gold. The outer surface is slightly concave, making the edges the highest point on the ring. This divergence from the traditional flat or convex shape of a men’s band gives the ring a subtle but unique appearance, and it creates a style that perfectly matches the look the client was after. Finish and Metal Options
In addition to the gentle inward curve, the top of this ring also features a combination of finishes that give it an even more complex texture. First, the hammered finish creates an organic pattern of dips and crests that flow smoothly into one another, and then the brushed finish gives everything a soft, matte appearance. The brushing also highlights the movement created by the hammered treatment, and this contrasts perfectly with the smooth, polished surface on the ring fronts.
Of course, there are plenty of other options to consider in terms of both metal type and finish combinations if you’re thinking about customizing this piece. For instance, you could switch to white gold or platinum to bring a bit of contemporary flair to the design, and you could complement this with a high polish finish all the way around. Sandblasting is another option as well if you’re interested in a more grainy matte surface, and you may also want to adjust the width of the band to make it as comfortable as possible on your finger.

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
