This stylish men’s ring features a scripture quote laser engraved all the way around the brushed center section, with polished beveled rails on either side. It was created for a client from Bremerton, WA, who reached out to us online to learn more about the custom design process. Band Design and Engraving
This band is 8mm wide and made of 14k white gold. The main surface covers most of the width, and this is where the engraving sits, arranged into three lines that run all the way around the band. On either side of this center area, the narrow rails angle down toward the finger to create a subtle separation between the two sections.
The text engraved in the middle is comprised of two verses from the Song of Solomon. It was provided by the client, and she chose Copperlate Gothic Light font to get the look she was after. She had initially requested only the first verse be inscribed, but after seeing how much space that would take up, she chose to add another verse to make a full three rows of text. She had also first asked that the ring be 10mm wide, but when her fiancee tried on some rings of different widths, he decided he liked the 8mm version better. We were able to adjust the text to fit comfortably on the narrower band, and they were both very happy with the way it turned out.
Contrasting Finishes
The engraved section of this ring features a brushed background to create a matte surface around the words. This helps the text stand out, and it also contrasts nicely with the high polish finish on the rails. Using contrasting finishes like this is a great way to highlight design features without overpowering other elements of the piece, and there are several other options to explore as well if you prefer something other than this particular combination.
