Band Design
The band is 8mm wide and flat on top, with rounded edges that soften the corner between the top and fronts of the ring. This gives the band a subtle but substantial presence, and the warm tones of the metal add a classical sensibility as well. On the inside, the surface is domed slightly to create a comfort fit.
Contrasting Finishes
The center section of the ring is brushed, producing a matte surface and bringing out some of the darker tones in the tungsten. The rails, however, are polished to a high shine, and this contrast in finishes is what allows for the differentiation of the two sections. Customization Options
Of course, there are other options when it comes to the finish combinations you could use on your ring. Choosing a sandblasted finish rather than brushed to create a different type of matte surface is worth considering, as is switching the placement of the bruised and polished finishes.
Another option for customization includes adjusting the width of the band to something more comfortable for you. The 8mm width that this ring spans is close to the high end for a men’s band, but you could go wider or narrower depending on your personal preference. Along with this decision, you could also consider whether to keep the same proportion between the middle section and the rails as you widen or narrow the band, or to modify them to create a new look.

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
