Peridot Center
At the center of this design is a 1.36 carat round checkerboard cut peridot, and it’s cradled in a martini prong setting. The three prongs holding the stone are evenly spaced around its margin, with one at the top and the other two positioned on either side of the stone’s lower half.
The checkerboard surface of the peridot is the result of the precise placement of facets that are designed to produce a particular pattern of dark and light sections that vary depending on the angle the piece is viewed from. This adds to the dynamic nature of the pendant design, and it helps to intensify the sparkle of the peridot as well.
Pendant Design
Behind the peridot, a simple basket provides support to the center setting and leaves plenty of open space for light to enter. The bale is slender and slightly tapered, connecting to the basket directly behind the top prong and adding an elegant touch without taking away from the dramatic presentation of the large peridot below. Customization Options
To customize this piece, you may want to start by choosing a different shape for the peridot in the center. Oval, pear or cushion shaped stones are options, and each would bring its own distinct flavor to the piece while keeping the underlying structure intact. You could also try experimenting with different types of gemstones, particularly if there’s a color you’d especially like to incorporate, and you can choose a different color metal as well to bring another type of contrast to the design.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
