Mother of Pearl Center
The mother of pearl in this piece is black, with streaks of pink, green and yellow visible depending on the angle its viewed from. The mother of pearl is cabochon cut in a teardrop shape, leaving it curving outward on the front of the piece and with its wider end hanging down at the bottom. This brings a satisfying balance to the pendant, and it defines the shape of the piece as a whole as well.
Diamond Accents
Surrounding the mother of pearl is a modified halo of small, round diamonds that are all split prong. There are 70 diamonds in the piece in all, and combined they total 0.41 carats. For the most part, they follow the contours of the outer margin of the mother of pearl, but five tendrils also branch off from the main curve to curl in across the edges of the center section. This arrangement brings a decidedly organic feel to the design, and that is only enhanced by the intertwining way more of these tendrils loop around each other at the top to form the bale. The diamonds are present on all of these curves, adding a wonderful contrast as well as a glamorous flair to the piece.

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
