Mother of Pearl Centers
The main body of each earring in this set is dominated by a cabochon cut, teardrop shaped black mother of pearl. Their rich black color is broken up subtly by hints of pink, green and yellow, and their softly rounded shape brings some organic overtones to the set as well. Both mother of pearls are oriented with their wider end at the bottom, adding a nice balance to the design.
Diamond Accents
A line of small round diamonds is split prong set running up the front of the finding that extends directly from the top of the main portion of each earring. These add a dazzling sparkle to the set, and they also bring a lovely contrast that helps highlight the rich tones of the mother of pearl below. There are 18 diamonds between the two earrings, and they combine to total 0.10 carats.
The use of diamonds here also helps create a secondary connection to the matching pendant that makes up the rest of this set. That piece includes a diamond halo around the center mother of pearl, and although the earrings don’t use this precise style, the accent diamonds here are set in the same way as those in the pendant. Custom Fine Jewelry
To customize this set, you may want to choose a different shape for the mother of pearl at the center. You could also experiment with a different type of stone in place of the diamonds, or you could simply change the setting style used. Shared prong and bright cut set are both options in this area, and you could use another type of metal to introduce a different kind of contrast into the design.

Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
