Description
This elegant pendant features a round brilliant cut diamond surrounded by a double halo of bright cut set diamonds and accented with hand-made filigree. The design was developed in consultation with a client from Carmel, IN with whom we have worked on several custom projects over the years. He had us create this pendant as a special gift for his wife, and the delicate and intricate design elements included make for a truly classic look.

Center Diamond and Halo
The diamond in the center of this piece is a 0.60 carat round brilliant cut stone, and it’s displayed beautifully in a four prong setting. Surrounding this stone is a double halo of bright cut set diamonds, which bring their own sparkle to the piece while also reflecting more light back up onto the larger diamond, which helps to intensify its brilliance.
Diamonds are frequently used in pieces commemorating a special event or milestone in a relationship or marriage due to their association with romantic love, unparalleled beauty, purity, and fidelity. Their extreme hardness also lends itself well to this type of design, as they’re unlikely to chip or crack when subjected to the rigors of daily wear.
Hand-made Filigree
The sides of the pendant were solid gold in our original design, but our client requested that we replace that with filigree instead, which adds a nice layer of complexity to the piece. It also gives the pendant a bit of classical flair, as opposed to the more contemporary look of the smooth metal surface.
Our expert artisans create filigree like this by hand, and that gives us wonderful flexibility when it comes to the types and styles of designs we can work in. This is a great way to include a special symbol in your piece, or you can work in your initials for an intensely personal touch.
Customization Options
There are many ways to adjust this design to make it more your own. For instance, you could change the filigree on the side to something with particular significance for you. Or you could place a birthstone or favorite gemstone in the center rather than the diamond.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
