This elegant women’s wedding ring features alternating round diamonds and sapphires set in a platinum band. It was created as a custom design for a client from Seattle, WA, who worked with our staff primarily in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom to go over the details of her piece and make sure we had everything just right.

Diamonds and Sapphires
The ring includes four round blue sapphires and three round diamonds, and these are shared prong set in an alternating pattern across the top of the band. The use of this setting type gives the piece a wonderful classical feel and it also shows off as much of the stones as possible.
The prongs themselves originate from the space below the gems, and they come up in a criss-cross manner, creating a lovely swooping motion for the ring when it’s viewed from the side. And the bright white of the polished platinum band creates a nice contrast with the blue of the sapphires, helping both to really stand out.
Setting and Metal Options
If you like the arrangement of stones in this piece, but still don’t feel that it’s quite your style, you may want to think about using a different combination of metal and setting types to alter the look just a bit. For instance, you could make a rose gold ring with bright cut set gemstones for a decidedly vintage feel. Or you might prefer a channel setting in white gold, which would take things in a more modern direction.

Design and estimate

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
