Custom Criss Cross Vintage-inspired Diamond Halo Engagement Ring

Engagement Ring Description

This dazzling engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond prong set at the top, surrounded by a halo of bright cut set diamonds, and accented by additional diamonds and milgrain beading on the criss-cross shank below. It was created as part of a custom wedding set for a client from Piketon, OH, who reached out to us online to begin the custom design process. In addition to this ring, we also created two matching wedding bands, that are contoured to sit snugly on either side of the engagement ring. Design Your Own Engagement Ring

Center Setting and Halo

The largest diamond in this ring is a 0.88 carat round brilliant cut diamond, and it's displayed beautifully in a four-prong setting made of 14k white gold. Just below this diamond, a halo of small, round diamonds surrounds the larger stone, sending additional light back up onto it and helping to create a lovely vintage feel for the ring at the same time. That vintage aesthetic is further intensified by the milgrain beading that lines the diamonds in the halo, and another layer of bright cut set diamonds lines either side of the halo in order to facilitate the transition to the band. Diamond Accents and Custom Filigree

The band is straight and narrow across the bottom, but about half-way up each side, it splits into two strands that curve out and then back in to cross over each other before arcing out again on their path up to meet the center setting. At the point where these two strands initially diverge, round bright cut set diamonds lined with milgrain beading appear also, and these run up both strands all the way to the top of the ring.

On each ring front, a curling, scroll-style filigree fills the space beneath the center setting, and this filigree is lined with decorative beading, which contributes to the vintage style of the piece as well. A princess cut diamond is also bezel set on each ring front directly below the center diamond, and this serves to anchor the design in a way while also providing a surprise sparkle and a nice contrast with the curves that dominate the rest of the design.
