Description

This dazzling engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond in a four prong platinum setting, with tension set diamond accents on the band. It was created as part of a custom bridal set to go along with wedding band #102452 for a client from Seattle, WA, who began the design process by coming into our Bellevue, WA showroom personally. We then continued to communicate with him online, finalizing details of the design and ensuring that the pieces we created were exactly what he and his fiancee were looking for.

Center Diamond

The main diamond in this ring is a 0.91 carat round brilliant cut stone. The openness of the four prong setting holding it in place, combined with the way the prongs rise up dramatically from the band, really helps the diamond stand out. The angle of the prongs matches the contours of the diamond perfectly, making for a beautiful overall effect. Diamond Engagement Rings

Accent Stones

There are five smaller round brilliant cut diamonds running down the shoulders of the shank on each side of the main stone, and these are all tension set and evenly spaced along the band. The type of setting used and the arrangement of these accent stones is identical to those in the companion wedding band, and that makes for a truly beautiful presentation when the two are worn together.

Customizing Your Ring

There are many ways to adapt this design to make it better reflect your individual style. For instance, you could replace the accent stones with a birthstone or favorite colored gemstone, and this would also introduce a lovely contrast to the piece. Sapphires are one excellent choice for this type of role, as they come in a wide range of colors and are nearly as hard as diamonds, making them able to stand up well to the rigors of everyday wear. Design Your Own Engagement Ring

Some other customization options include switching to bright cut settings for the accent stones, which would shift the piece from a contemporary style to a more classical look. And you could experiment with different types of metals like yellow or rose gold, which can also help push the piece in a classical direction.

Customize

Use this design as a starting point for a custom piece.

Discuss the stones, metal, proportions, setting and finish with a designer, online or in our Seattle and Bellevue showrooms. You can bring reference photographs or your own stone for us to assess.

  1. Design and estimate

The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.

  2. 3D design review

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.

  3. Physical model

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.

  4. Approval and production

The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
