Description
This elegant engagement ring features an Asscher cut diamond in the center of a three-stone setting, with old European cut diamonds on the sides. It was created for a couple from Everett, WA, who initially came into our Bellevue, WA showroom to learn more about our custom design process and how we could help them create the perfect piece.

After meeting with them, we developed a couple of CAD models that we shared with them through the online workroom we created for the project. They shared their thoughts, and we revised our designs until they were satisfied that we had every detail just right.
Three-stone Setting
The Asscher cut diamond in the center of this ring is 1.02 carats, and the four platinum prongs holding it in place perfectly cradle its cropped corners. Asscher cut diamonds were quite popular in the early 20th century, and have recently begun to be used widely again. Their overall shape makes them seem similar to an emerald cut, but the slightly different arrangement of the facets often gives them more brilliance. Diamond Engagement Rings
To complete the three-stone setting in this ring, two old European cut diamonds are prong set next to the larger center stone. One of these was a family diamond, and we found a new one to match it to complete the set. Using this style of diamond in conjunction with the Asscher cut in the center helps give the ring a decidedly classic look and feel.
Custom Design Process
When this couple came to us, they were envisioning a ring with a three-stone center, but they also thought they wanted accent diamonds on the shank shoulders. After we posted initial designs with three and six channel set diamonds on each side, they asked to see what the ring would look like without any of these accent stones. At this point, they decided that was the way they wanted to go due to the simple classical elegance of the design.

Design and estimate

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
