Engagement Ring Description

This dazzling engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond prong set at the top of an ornate filigree band, accented with bright cut set diamonds and milgrain beading. It’s a vintage-inspired design that’s part of our Sylvie collection here at Joseph Jewelry, and you can view or try it on any time you visit our Bellevue, WA showroom. In fact, we are the only retailer of work by this designer in the Pacific Northwest.

Center Setting and Diamond Accents

At the top of this ring, a one carat round brilliant cut diamond is prong set in 18k white gold. The prongs hold the diamond up modestly above the level of the band, maintaining its place of prominence while keeping the profile of the ring relatively low. This placement of the stone also helps it flow more smoothly with the design of the rest of the band. Diamond Engagement Rings

Lines of round bright cut set diamonds run along either side of the center diamond before curling outward and angling down along the shank shoulders. These eventually meet in a point on either side of the center, and they produce somewhat of a halo effect while also facilitating the transition from the large center to the ornate band below. Filigree and Milgrain

On either side of the accent diamonds, scroll filigree forms the top of the band all the way down to the three-quarter point on each side. This gives the ring an open and intricate look, and the milgrain that lines all of the filigree only helps to enhance the vintage overtones of the design. Antique Engagement Rings

The milgrain lines the diamond accents as well, creating a connection between these two areas of the piece. The band tapers dramatically moving from the top down the sides, allowing for a dramatic presentation at the top but a comfortable fit around the finger.
