Description

This stunning engagement ring features an emerald cut gem surrounded by a diamond halo and accented with additional diamonds, all in a platinum band. It was created for a client from Sea Grit, NJ, who found our original Engagement Ring design #1117 online and then asked us to make a few modifications until it was exactly what she wanted.

Although she lives across the country from our Bellevue, WA showroom, our client benefited from all aspects of the custom design process. We shipped her two wax models of different versions of the ring so that she could inspect physical copies before making her final decision.

Center Stone

The stone at the center of this ring is a 4.75 carat emerald cut gem, and it’s displayed beautifully in a platinum double claw prong setting. The setting was one of the elements the client adjusted from the original design, as she liked the way the claw prongs wrapped around the stone. Diamond Engagement Rings

Diamond Halo

Surrounding the center stone is a halo of bright cut set diamonds, which help intensify the sparkle of the center gem while also contributing to the vintage feel of the piece. We suggested adjusting the shape of this halo from the original so that it better followed the contours of the center stone, and our client approved this change as well.

Custom Filigree

As a finishing touch, the client requested we add a custom filigree to the underside of the center setting. She didn’t like the way the setting was open below the stone, and this allowed her to cover that space while also including a special design made out of her fiancee’s initials in the piece. Customize

Use this design as a starting point for a custom piece.

Discuss the stones, metal, proportions, setting and finish with a designer, online or in our Seattle and Bellevue showrooms. You can bring reference photographs or your own stone for us to assess.

  1. Design and estimate

The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.

  2. 3D design review

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.

  3. Physical model

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.

  4. Approval and production

The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.

Quality

Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

Structure and support
The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
Diamond and gemstone selection
We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
Final inspection
Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.
