Although she lives across the country from our Bellevue, WA showroom, our client benefited from all aspects of the custom design process. We shipped her two wax models of different versions of the ring so that she could inspect physical copies before making her final decision.
Center Stone
The stone at the center of this ring is a 4.75 carat emerald cut gem, and it’s displayed beautifully in a platinum double claw prong setting. The setting was one of the elements the client adjusted from the original design, as she liked the way the claw prongs wrapped around the stone. Diamond Engagement Rings
Diamond Halo
Surrounding the center stone is a halo of bright cut set diamonds, which help intensify the sparkle of the center gem while also contributing to the vintage feel of the piece. We suggested adjusting the shape of this halo from the original so that it better followed the contours of the center stone, and our client approved this change as well.
Custom Filigree
As a finishing touch, the client requested we add a custom filigree to the underside of the center setting. She didn’t like the way the setting was open below the stone, and this allowed her to cover that space while also including a special design made out of her fiancee’s initials in the piece. Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
