Cushion Cut Alexandrite and Diamond Ring
Rarely mined, an alexandrite is well known for its unique ability of changing color in natural or artificial light. In direct sunlight and fluorescent light, an alexandrite gem appears blue-green, but indoors the color shifts to a reddish-purple hue. It is also commonly known as the birthstone for June and the gem for the 55th wedding anniversary.
This ring features a 1.70 ctw cushion cut alexandrite held in place by four prongs, all in platinum metal. The center stone is hugged by two pear brilliant cut diamonds from each side of the ring. Those side stones accentuate the center stone and thanks to their pointed tip they draw the eyes to the rare gem showcased at the core of this ring. The three stones are raised in a basket- like structure with milgrain technique for the aesthetics and further vintage appearance.
Although this is a three stone style ring, the alexandrite gem is still getting as much attention as if it were in a solitaire setting.
