Cushion Cut Alexandrite and Diamond Ring
Rarely mined, an alexandrite is well known for its unique ability of changing color in natural or artificial light. In direct sunlight and fluorescent light, an alexandrite gem appears blue-green, but indoors the color shifts to a reddish-purple hue. It is also commonly known as the birthstone for June and the gem for the 55th wedding anniversary.
This ring features a 1.70 ctw cushion cut alexandrite held in place by four prongs, all in platinum metal. The center stone is hugged by two pear brilliant cut diamonds from each side of the ring. Those side stones accentuate the center stone and thanks to their pointed tip they draw the eyes to the rare gem showcased at the core of this ring. The three stones are raised in a basket- like structure with milgrain technique for the aesthetics and further vintage appearance.
Although this is a three stone style ring, the alexandrite gem is still getting as much attention as if it were in a solitaire setting. The cushion cut usually has a classic and timeless appeal with its soft and rounded corners. It is a blend between the old mine facet pattern and the modern round brilliant cut. This work of art requires an extremely high level of craftsmanship honed over many years in the industry. At Joseph Jewelry, the experience and precision of our skilled craftsman is a key point to turning any simple design into a one-of-a-kind piece of art.

The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
