Main Setting
The main stone in this ring is a 1.80 carat round brilliant cut diamond and we designed the perfect setting to hold it securely and show off its wonderful sparkle. This effect is accentuated thanks to the subtle champagne color of the unplated white gold, which introduces just enough contrast to really help the diamond stand out.
The client knew he wanted unplated white gold for the ring, but he was unsure whether to go with 14k or 18k due to the slight color difference. We recommended that he bring in his diamond to see how it looked against both types of metal, and in the end he settled on the 14k seen here. Diamond Engagement Rings
Accent Diamonds
Each shank shoulder holds six bright cut set diamonds lined with milgrain, and these taper in size slightly as they move away from the center setting to stay consistent with the contours of the band. The original design we came up with had three more diamonds on each side, but our client decided to remove these to make more room for the custom engraving.
There are also three diamonds prong set in leaf shapes on both ring fronts right below the main diamond. These add some surprise sparkle, and the leaves tie in nicely with the pattern used for the engraving that covers the majority of the band.
Hand Engraving
A swirling, organic pattern is engraved on the sides of the shank from the center setting all the way down to the three-quarter point. This same pattern appears on the top of the band below the accent diamonds, and it stops at the same point as the other section of engraving, close to the bottom of the band.
This type of detail is completed by our skilled artisans as the final step in the production process, and the fact that it’s all done by hand enables us to ensure the highest quality and most precise detailing possible.
