Description
This exquisite engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond in a platinum talon prong setting at the top, accented by round split prong set diamonds running down the narrow shank below. It was created for a couple from Tacoma, WA, who visited our Bellevue, WA showroom in person to get the custom design process underway. They also returned to look at options for their center stone several times while we were working on their project, and we collaborated extensively with them online as well. Center Diamond
The centerpiece of this ring is a 2.04 carat round brilliant cut diamond, and it sits perched up high on top of the band in a platinum talon prong setting. Between the prongs, an elegantly simple filigree pattern provides support and an added level of intricacy to the design, while still allowing a clear view of the stone and its dazzling sparkle. The clients wanted to make sure they picked out the perfect center stone for their ring, and so we worked with them to determine exactly what specifications they were interested in. We then brought in some diamond options for them to view in person, and they fell in love with one.
Sapphire and Diamond Accents
Two round blue sapphires are bezel set in this piece, with one on each ring front at the base of the center setting. These add their rich color and a lovely contrast to the ring, and the clients viewed and approved these particular stones as well before we set them in the ring. Sapphire and Diamond Engagement Rings
Along the top of the band, small round diamonds are split prong set in a line that runs about three quarters of the way down each side. The brilliant sparkle of these accents complements the stunning center stone nicely, and the use of the split prong setting adds to the classical aesthetic of the piece overall as well.

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
