This stunning engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond, flanked by two smaller diamonds, all set in a polished platinum band. It was created for a client from Issaquah, WA, who wanted to go with the three-stone look, but also fell in love with the half-bezel setting she saw in our original engagement ring design #1480.

Taking all of the design elements into consideration, we created this ring as well as a matching wedding band #102301 to go with it, both of which incorporate the half bezel setting our client liked so much. We worked with her in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom, as well as online to iron out all of the details of her project and ensure that the pieces we created for her were exactly what she wanted in every way.
Three-stone Setting
The main stone in this ring is a 1.51 carat round brilliant cut diamond. It sits slightly above the two side stones that complete the three-stone setting and that are also round brilliant cut. The half bezel settings holding all three create an openness on the fronts of the ring that show off the stones beautifully while also framing them perfectly when the piece is viewed from the top. A three-stone setting like this is a popular alternative to the more traditional diamond solitaire for an engagement ring. The two accent stones provided additional sparkle to the piece, and they also give the ring a nice sense of balance and symmetry.

Shank Design
In order to accommodate such large and beautiful stones at the top of the ring, our client decided to go with a Euro shank design, which features a slightly squared profile towards the bottom of the band. This helps keep the ring from spinning on your finger, and it helps create a more contemporary feel. The edges of the band are squared as well, while the top is slightly rounded, and these subtle touches work well in the overall design of the piece.
Metal and Gemstone Options
There are many ways to customize this ring and make it more your own. For instance, you could go with sapphires in place of some or all of the diamonds. These are also frequently used in engagement rings, and they come in a wide variety of colors.
Another option could be to switch to a rose or yellow gold for the band if you’d like a more classical look. The warm colors of these metals can really help the sparkling white of the diamonds to stand out, and you could even add some custom engraving to the shank for a bit of vintage flair.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
