Center Sapphire
The main stone in this ring is an oval blue sapphire measuring just over one and a half carats. It’s tension set lengthwise in the unplated white gold band, which allows it to stay within the margins of the shank and stay protected while still offering clear views from all angles.
The rich blue of the sapphire contrasts beautifully with the champagne color of the white gold band, and their juxtaposition helps to highlight the stone even though its surface sits flush with the top of the shank. Mokume Inlay
The shoulders of the tapered shank are inlaid with a lovely mokume gane design that matches the same feature on the companion men’s band. The beautiful organic patterns seen in this area are the result of the mokume production process, in which our artisans twist and then forge several thin sheets of different types of metal together.
The mokume in this piece is made from 14k rose gold, 14k palladium white gold, and sterling silver, and the segment included narrows slightly as it moves away from the center to follow the contours of the tapered shank. Mokume Jewelry

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.

Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.

- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
