Description
This stunning engagement ring features a round brilliant center with bright cut set diamonds along the top and sides of the shank and around the gallery rail, all set in platinum. It was created for a client from Kirkland, WA, who came into our Bellevue, WA showroom to look at pieces and discuss a redesign of their current wedding set. We were able to create this lovely design, and after viewing a few different options for diamonds versus hand engraving, they gave the approval for this design to move into production. Center & Accent Diamonds
The center of this ring is a 1.82 round brilliant cut diamond. It is held in place with four prongs that are encircled with a hidden halo. Flowing down from the halo there are two strands on each side with bright cut set diamonds. The strands criss-cross and flow down the fronts of the ring, meeting up with the top strands of diamonds to cover three sides of the band. Diamond Engagement Rings
Originally, the client wanted milgrain in between each strand, but decided to leave it off, creating a much more modern look. The diamonds all continue down to the three quarter point of the ring, leaving a sizing bar, just in case. From the top, this design looks like a classic ring with a large center and a delicate diamond band, but the criss-cross fronts add extra interest to a one-of-a-kind ring. Customization Options
There are many ways to customize this ring. One could add the milgrain in, creating a much more vintage aesthetic. Like the inspiration piece, one could make the cathedral come to a point just below the girdle of the diamond. Finally, this design would look beautiful with a gemstone center, such as a purple sapphire or red ruby.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
