The 1.89 carat blue sapphire at the center of this ring is radiant cut, which gives it a rectangular shape with truncated corners. It’s framed beautifully by the four low-profile platinum prongs holding it in place, as their shape and the angle of their placement complement its contours nicely. Sapphire Engagement Rings

Even though the main stone in this ring isn’t a diamond, our client liked the idea of working them into the design in some way, although he wasn’t set on the placement or the type of cut he wanted when he first came to us. After exploring several options, he eventually settled on the arrangement seen here, with seven round channel set diamonds, slightly tapering in size, running down each shank shoulder.
The combination of round stones with a channel setting really enhances the classical feel of the piece, and the diamonds themselves contrast beautifully with the rich blue of the sapphire. The way that they taper slightly also goes along with the gentle widening of the band as it nears the center setting, and this gives the ring a wonderful balance and grace.
