This elegant engagement ring features an Ideal Square diamond prong set in platinum, surrounded with a halo of split prong set diamonds, and accented with additional split prong set diamonds on the shank. The design was developed for a client from Bellevue, WA, who initially shared her ideas with us online, and then came into our showroom personally to review the design details more in-depth.

Center Diamond and Halo
The main stone in this ring is a 0.80 carat Ideal Square diamond, whose stunning brilliance is clearly visible from all angles thanks to the openness of the four prong setting holding it in place. This cut of diamond takes up to three times longer than any standard square cut, and it’s the only type that will exhibit the distinctive hears and arrows pattern when viewed straight on from the top or bottom.
This pattern is a result of the perfectly symmetrical facets the stone features, which is also what’s responsible for its incredible shine. And to add even more brilliance, this beautiful stone is surrounded by a halo of split prong set diamonds, whose slightly squared shape follows the general outline of the main diamond while also softening the edges a bit. Accent Stones
Shared prong set diamonds run down the shoulders of the shank to the mid-way point on the band, helping to unite the two sections of the ring and to bring some vintage flair to the piece. The underside of the center setting also features round bright cut set diamonds lined with milgrain along each of the four bands that come up from the ring itself to support the corners of the halo.
Metal and Setting Options
There are many ways to subtly adjust this design to make it better suit your personal style. For instance, you could switch to a rose or yellow gold to bring some warmth and contrast to the piece. After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
