Description
This gorgeous engagement ring features an oval center diamond prong set in platinum, with round bright cut set diamond accents and custom hand engraving on the tapered band. It was created for a client from Seattle, WA, who worked with our team online and onsite in our Bellevue, WA showroom to make sure every detail was perfect.

He initially reached out to us through our website to share his ideas about the general outline he was envisioning for the ring. We created a couple of sketches based on this information, and he chose the one he liked to take into the CAD portion of the process. After several rounds of revisions in this medium, he came in to see a wax model, and then gave his approval to begin production. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Oval Center
At the center of this ring is a 0.71 carat oval diamond with stunning fire, and it’s framed perfectly by four platinum prongs. The client knew he wanted an oval center stone from the beginning, so we showed him several options to allow him to choose the one he liked best. He was also concerned that the setting be kept as low profile as possible due to the nature of his fiancee-to-be’s work, and so we adjusted our initial model to accommodate this request. Diamond Accents
On each shank shoulder, three old mine cut diamonds are bright cut set in a line that begins just next to the center stone. These taper in size along with the band, and they provide the perfect amount of sparkle to complement the larger diamond. The placement of these accents was one of the elements the client wanted to make sure was exactly right, and we showed him several different options so he could make an informed choice. Custom Hand Engraving
Below these diamond accents, the band is covered with elegant hand engraving down past the mid-point. This is in a wheat style, with overlapping lines but nothing too ornate, at the client’s request. The hand engraving really helps enhance the vintage overtones of the ring, and it adds a level of detail to the design that makes it really stand out.

Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
