We created a couple of sketches based on this information, and he chose the one he liked to take into the CAD portion of the process. Oval Center
At the center of this ring is a 0.71 carat oval diamond with stunning fire, and it’s framed perfectly by four platinum prongs. The client knew he wanted an oval center stone from the beginning, so we showed him several options to allow him to choose the one he liked best. He was also concerned that the setting be kept as low profile as possible due to the nature of his fiancee-to-be’s work, and so we adjusted our initial model to accommodate this request. Diamond Accents
On each shank shoulder, three old mine cut diamonds are bright cut set in a line that begins just next to the center stone. These taper in size along with the band, and they provide the perfect amount of sparkle to complement the larger diamond. The placement of these accents was one of the elements the client wanted to make sure was exactly right, and we showed him several different options so he could make an informed choice. Custom Hand Engraving
Below these diamond accents, the band is covered with elegant hand engraving down past the mid-point. This is in a wheat style, with overlapping lines but nothing too ornate, at the client’s request. The hand engraving really helps enhance the vintage overtones of the ring, and it adds a level of detail to the design that makes it really stand out.
