Center Stone and Diamonds
While blue is the color most commonly associated with sapphires, this gemstone actually occurs naturally in several different colors, including the orange stone used in this design. The round cut of the sapphire in this ring is nicely complemented by its prong setting, which blends smoothly into the filigree below.
Like the larger center sapphire, the diamonds on each side are round-cut and held in place with a prong setting, lending a nice overall balance to the piece. Their brilliant white highlights the depth of color of the center stone, while simultaneously adding a sense of refinement to the ring as a whole.
Mokume-gane Inlay
This ring also features a mokume-gane inlay that starts at the base of the diamonds and runs down the outside of the shank. The matte finish of this inlay accentuates the effect of the wood-grain pattern, serving to draw attention to this particular detail while not letting it overshadow the main features of the piece. After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.

- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
