Description

This exquisite engagement ring features a cushion shaped Padparadscha sapphire in the center of a three-stone setting, with round brilliant cut diamonds on either side, and a mokume gane inlay on the band. It was created for a couple from Seattle, WA, who worked with our team in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom to make sure the pieces we produced was exactly what they were after. It's a great match with men’s band #100593.

Three-stone Setting

The sapphire this ring centers on is considered a Padparadscha, which is a designation reserved for only those stones that display the lovely combination of pink and orange seen here. The delicate color of the sapphire is enhanced by the contrast with the brilliant white diamonds on either side of it, as well as by comparison to the more subtle warmth of the rose gold used in the mokume on the band.

All three stones in the main setting are prong set in unplated white gold, which also makes up the body of the band. This metal brings a soft champagne color to the table, providing the perfect backdrop for the other design elements. Three Stone Engagement Rings

Mokume Gane

The top of the band down to the three-quarter point is covered with a beautiful mokume gane pattern made from a mixture of 14k white gold, sterling silver, and 14k rose gold. This combination is the same one used in the companion men’s band, and the lovely organic designs it displays add a delicate grace to the piece. Mokume Jewelry

Milgrain and Filigree

Milgrain beading lines the mokume section of the ring, framing it nicely and bringing some vintage flair to the design. The fronts of the piece below the center setting also feature custom metalwork, with the prongs growing out of simple yet whimsical twists of metal.

Customizing Your Piece

There are many ways to go about altering this design if you’d like to put your personal mark on it. For instance, you could use a different combination of metals for the mokume section, or you could include different gemstones in the center setting. Eliminating the milgrain would give the piece a more contemporary feel, as would switching to a more silvery metal for the body of the ring.
