It was created for a client from Seattle, WA, who came into our Bellevue, WA showroom to begin the custom design process. She selected the elements she wanted her ring to include, and our team came up with this gorgeous design, which she quickly approved so we could send it into production.

Sapphire Solitaire
A ring with a single stone, or solitaire, is a traditional choice when it comes to engagement rings. However, this piece introduces a twist by using a sapphire instead of a diamond as the solitaire stone. Purple sapphires in particular are associated with love, kindness, and strength, and they are thought to bring joy as well.
The sapphire used in this ring exhibits a beautiful light purple color, and the minimalist design of the setting allows for maximum exposure to light to help it really shine. The use of a three prong setting also highlights the triangular shape of the trillion cut, making for a lovely presentation all around.
Gemstone and Metal Choices
A design like this offers many opportunities for you to include something of personal significance. For instance, you could choose to replace the purple sapphire with another shade, or with another type of gemstone entirely. 3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
