This stunning engagement ring features a straight baguette diamond prong set in platinum with split prong set diamonds running down the criss-cross shank. It was created for a client from Tacoma, WA, who came into our Bellevue showroom to look at some pieces and pick out the types of features he liked.

We consulted with him on that initial visit, and we then came up with an outline for his piece, which we shared with him online. He quickly approved our proposal, and we turned things over to our expert artisans to begin production.
Baguette Center
The diamond at the center of this piece is a 0.49 carat straight baguette cut, and it’s displayed beautifully in a four prong platinum setting. Surrounding this is a squared halo made up of small split prong set diamonds, which helps enhance the beauty of the larger stone while also highlighting its lovely shape. Halo Engagement Rings
Diamond Accents
Split prong set diamond accents continue down the sides of the shank, coming to a stop just past the mid-point on the band. These help unite the two sections of the piece, and they tie in nicely with the companion wedding ring we also made for this couple. That ring is contoured to fit snugly against this engagement ring, and its split prong set diamonds stop at the same spot on the band as these do. Diamond Engagement Rings
Criss-cross Shank
The shank itself splits at the same spot that the diamond accents start, and the two sections curve out before coming back in to cross over each other as they near the center diamond. After making this pass, they travel outward again in order to intersect the main setting just below the halo and right at the spot where the four prongs originate.
This combination of features creates an elegant and timeless design, and the use of a family diamond as the center helped bring special meaning to the ring for the client. This is a great way to enhance the symbolism of a special ring as it creates a link to past generations and the love you share as a family.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.

The ring designers were able to take his suggestions and requests and made a beautiful and one of kind platinum halo style engagement ring that features a beautiful emerald cut diamond from my grandmother in law's wedding band. We also purchased his wedding band and had my wedding band created here as we felt that the staff were accommodating and welcome and that most importantly the product is high quality and incredible.
