This exquisite engagement ring features a round black diamond set in the center of a guitar shape, with black antiquing on the platinum band made to resemble the guitar strings and other details. We worked back and forth with her to determine exactly the type of diamond she wanted in the center, and once we had that settled, we created a model of her piece in CAD as we proposed to make it. She loved it and asked to have a wax representation shipped to her so she could examine it in person before giving her final approval. When she saw the wax, she only requested a small modification to the width of the band, and we then turned things over to our expert artisans to begin production. One of a Kind Engagement Rings
Black Diamond Center
At the top of this ring, a 2.16 carat round black diamond is prong set in platinum. It’s positioned to represent the sound hole in the guitar shape it sits above, and it’s nearly as wide as the narrowest point on the guitar body. These proportions help give the piece a nice balance, and they maintain the look the client was after.
Band Design
The client’s vision was to have the ring entirely made in the shape of a guitar wrapped around the finger. To do this, we used the body of the guitar as the base for the center diamond setting, and we made the band from the neck of the guitar. Strings and frets are highlighted with black antiquing to enhance the details, and the top surface of the body is brushed while the rest of the band is polished.
The only change the client made from our original design was to widen the band slightly to allow the details to come through more clearly. This gives the piece better proportions overall, and it allowed plenty of space for the engraving she wanted on the inside of the band as well.

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.

- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
