This gorgeous engagement ring features an oval center diamond surrounded by a halo of smaller diamonds, with additional diamond and milgrain accents. It was created for a client from Quincy, WA, who found a ring he loved in our Bellevue, WA showroom and worked with us online to customize it, for his fiancée.

Center Setting
The main feature of this ring is the 1.50 carat oval center diamond, displayed beautifully in a four prong platinum setting. It’s surrounded by a halo of bright cut set diamonds lined with milgrain beading, which helps give the piece a real vintage flair.

There are many ways to play with the engagement ring design to make it your own, including varying the shape of the center stone, adding a halo, and adjusting the type of setting used for both the main and the accent gems. Rose Gold Basket
Below the center setting is a filigree basket that functions as a support structure for the diamond above. But support isn’t its only purpose. It’s also a lovely piece of metalwork, and the warmth of the 14k rose gold it’s made from contrasts beautifully with the sparkling white of the platinum and diamonds that comprise the rest of the piece.
The two-tone look this combination of metals creates, helps intensify the vintage feel of the ring, and it also makes it more versatile in terms of accessorizing. Using rose or yellow gold is a good way to work some color into the ring without using different gemstones as well, and the small accent diamonds set into the rose gold in this particular ring really stand out thanks to the contrast.

While this client did originally come into our Bellevue, WA location to take a look at some sample rings in person, we completed the bulk of his project online. 3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.
Lifetime warranty and care

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
