Description

This stunning engagement ring features a princess cut diamond in a trellis setting atop a delicate white gold band. It was created for a client from Kirkland, WA, who visited our Bellevue, WA showroom personally to initiate the custom design process. He found a piece that he liked on that visit, and he then worked with our team online to customize it to his ideal specifications. Design Your Own Engagement Ring

Princess Cut Diamond

At the top of this ring sits a 0.72 carat princess cut diamond in an elegant trellis setting. The four prongs that meet the diamond at its corners curve up gracefully from the criss-cross below, and they bow out slightly as they do so. This gentle curve stands in opposition to the clean, straight lines of the diamond, giving the impression that the stone is suspended from those four corners at the top.

Band Design

The band itself is straight and narrow, and it’s made of 18k white gold. The beautiful curve of the ring is only interrupted at the top where the strands that cross over each other to form the prongs emerge from the lower portion of the shank shoulder. The upper part rises ever so slightly at the same time, curving up to meet the bar near the bottom of the main diamond as it comes to a point.

Customization Options

Despite the simplicity of this design, there are quite a few ways you can modify so it’s a match for your personal style. For instance, you could use a different shape for the diamond in the center. A round stone would give this ring a softer, more classical feel, while an emerald cut could take things in a more antique direction.

Using a different color metal for the band is something to think about too, as is using a different kind of gemstone all together. Sapphires are frequently used as alternatives to diamonds in engagement rings, and the many different colors they come in make them a nice option if you’re looking to integrate a more personal touch into your piece. Customize

Use this design as a starting point for a custom piece.

Discuss the stones, metal, proportions, setting and finish with a designer, online or in our Seattle and Bellevue showrooms. You can bring reference photographs or your own stone for us to assess.

  1. Design and estimate

The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.

  2. 3D design review

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.

  3. Physical model

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.

  4. Approval and production

The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.

Diamond and gemstone selection
We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
