Diamond Solitaire
At the top of this ring, a one carat, round brilliant cut diamond sits in a six-prong setting made of 14k white gold. This diamond is the only gemstone in the ring, which is what makes it a solitaire design. That style is a traditional choice for an engagement ring, and the other details of this design reflect those classical origins as well.
The way the six prongs of the center setting cradle the diamond give it a bit of a floral appearance, and that is only enhanced by the shape of the prongs as on the lower portion of the setting. Each prong begins as two strands that curve towards each other, eventually meeting and then rising up to curl over the girdle of the diamond at the top. As a result of that arrangement, the spaces between the prongs take on the general outline of flower petals, adding to the organic overtones of the design. Diamond Engagement Rings
Customization Options
To customize a piece like this, you may want to consider switching to rose gold to add to the organic feel and classical style of the ring. You could also choose an oval or pear-shaped diamond to replace the round stone used here, or you could switch to a different type of gemstone entirely.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
