This elegant men’s wedding ring features a bezel set diamond in the center of a raised middle section, with narrow rails on the outside of the white gold band. It was created for a client from Normandy Park, WA, who found a piece he loved in our Bellevue, WA showroom and requested a few modifications to turn it into his ideal ring. Flush Set Diamond
The single gemstone in this piece is a 0.06 carat round brilliant cut diamond. It’s bezel set in white gold, keeping it low and protected but still raised up a bit from the rest of the band. It covers about half the width of the center section of the ring, and this allows it to add a distinctive sparkle without being overpowering.
Many men’s wedding rings integrate gemstones in one way or another. It can help to create a link to the women’s rings that make up the rest of the wedding set, and it can help signify the immense importance of the piece. Even if you don’t want to have a gemstone on the outside of your ring, you may want to consider adding one flush set on the inside of the band for a special personal detail only you and your partner know about. Band Design and Contrasting Finishes
The middle portion of the ring is 2mm thick, allowing it to rise up noticeably above the thinner rails that run along either side. It’s also brushed for a nice matte finish that helps show off the beauty of the metal while simultaneously creating a nice contrast with the sparkle of the diamond.
The rails contrast with the middle section, as they’re polished to a high shine. This makes more clear the separation between the two areas of the ring, and it introduces another level of complexity to the design.
The piece the client looked to for inspiration was a two-tone ring that used yellow gold for the bezel setting holding the diamond. However, the client decided he wanted to go with all white gold for a clean, uniform look, and he was very pleased with the way the piece turned out.
