This unique men’s wedding ring features a laser engraved fingerprint on a white gold band with a brushed finish. It was created as a custom order for a client from Seattle, WA, who wanted to explore options for a simple yet special design. To complete the project, he worked with our team in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom as well as online, and the ring came out beautifully.

Laser Engraved Fingerprint
The main feature of this ring is a laser engraved fingerprint belonging to our client’s fiancée. This alone makes the ring completely unique, and it adds a wonderful personal significance to such an already important piece. After the engraving, the fingerprint was also treated to create the black antique look that makes it really stand out.
If you want to incorporate your partner’s fingerprint into your ring, there are many ways to do it. Using the fingerprint in a prominent position as it is in this piece is one option, but you can also take a different, more subtle approach. You could even have the fingerprint engraved on the inside of the band as a special detail only you and your partner know about.
Metal and Finish Options
If you like the general layout of this ring but want to make it match your personal style a bit better, there are ways to do that as well. For instance, using a different type of metal such as rose or yellow gold will instantly change the style of the piece and give it a bit of classical flair.
Or you could experiment with different types of finishes to see which fits best with your individual tastes. Options for finishes include the brushed one seen here, as well as high polish, sandblasted, and hammered.

Design and estimate
The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.
3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
