Description
This elegant men’s wedding ring features a laser engraved and black antiqued fingerprint on top of a concave, polished white gold band. It was created for a client from Nashville, TN, who reached out to us online to share her inspiration for the ring she hoped to make for her fiance. Engraved Fingerprint
The main feature of this ring is a partial fingerprint that’s laser engraved across the top surface. It is a replication of a fingerprint supplied by the client, and so makes for an exceptionally special personal touch and a truly unique piece. To make the lines of the fingerprint more clear, we applied black antiquing after the engraving, and the contrast this adds brings a subtle complexity to the design as well. Band Design and Customization Options
The band itself is made from 14k white gold, and it’s 7mm wide. The top surface is concave, with a gentle but definite slope coming down toward the center of the band from each side. The ring fronts are flat, and the inner surface is slightly domed to create a comfort fit.
If you’re interested in a piece like this, there are quite a few customization options to consider. For instance, you could adjust the width of the band according to your personal preference. If you’re not sure what’s most comfortable for you, the best thing to do is to try on some rings of varying widths, either in our Bellevue, WA showroom or at your local jeweler. Typical widths for men’s bands can be anything from 6mm to 9mm, and both narrower and wider are possible as well.
You may also want to think about adjusting the shape of the band by making it flat or even slightly domed. Either of these options would create a significantly different look while still keeping the primary structure of the piece intact, and you could also experiment with yellow or rose gold if you prefer a colored metal.

Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
