We shared CAD images of their piece with them through the online workroom we set up for the project, and they then came in to inspect wax models of the design. We repeated this process a few times until they were sure the outline was just right, and at that point, we turned their project over to our expert artisans to begin production. Two-tone Band
The center portion of this ring is made from 14k yellow gold, and it’s bordered by narrow white gold rails all the way around. This gives the ring a nice two-tone look, introducing some contrast without overshadowing the rest of the design.
The band itself is squared but with rounded corners, and it’s flatter on the top than on the bottom. The center portion sits slightly above the rails, but there is no space between the two sections. This was one of the changes the client requested from an earlier version of the piece, as he was concerned that dirt would collect in the small crevices between the yellow and white gold.
Diamond Accents
Two round diamonds are flush set in a line across the yellow gold section of the band, and shallow grooves frame them on either side. These highlight the contrast between the two metals, and they add some sparkle to the ring as well. Our initial models had these diamonds quite a bit smaller, but after seeing the first wax model, the clients asked that we increase their size to improve the overall balance of the piece.
Filigree Plate
On the inside of the ring, a custom filigree plate runs underneath the top of the band. This features a Celtic-inspired pattern, and a Celtic cross sits right in the center. Because this is a detail that will only be seen when the ring isn’t being worn, it was a nice way for the clients to include something of personal significance that only they know about. Celtic Rings

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
