Custom Men's Sandblasted Mokume Wedding Band
Item #101165Men's Wedding Band Description
While we were working on the ring, the client was actually in India planning his wedding, and so we communicated with him primarily online and over the phone. We also worked with his mother, who lives locally and so was able to visit our Bellevue showroom in person. We dealt with all concerns as they came up throughout the design process, and in the end he and his family were very happy with the ring we produced. Design Your Own Wedding Ring
Mokume Gane
The beautiful swirling patterns in this ring are a result of the mokume gane production process, which involves layering several different types of metals, twisting them, and then forging them together. The technique was developed several hundred years ago in Japan, and it takes significant skill and experience to execute properly.
The metals in this ring are 14k rose gold, palladium, and sterling silver, and it was both the color combination and the swirling pattern that the client liked when he found the model ring on our site. While the nature of the mokume forging process dictates that no two pieces will ever come out exactly the same, we can create a 70%-80% pattern match by combining the metals in the same way in a new piece. Finish and Metal Options
Of course, if you would like a different color combination, you can select different metals for your ring. For instance, you could work in some yellow or white gold, or you could choose to add an antique oxidizing effect, which turns the silver a much darker color and can really help the patterns stand out.
This ring features a sandblasted finish, but there are other options in this area as well. For instance, you could use a hammered finish to bring a more pronounced texture to the ring, or you could go for the shiny, high polish option.
Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
