Center Diamond
The diamond at the center of this piece is round and brilliant cut. It’s 0.54 carats, and the bezel setting holding it in place frames it beautifully. It’s a classic style that allows the diamond to take center stage, showing off its natural beauty free of any distractions.
Any time you have a diamond as the focus of your piece, you want to make sure the stone used is of the highest quality. This can seem like an overwhelming proposition, however, particularly if you’re not familiar with the terminology used to describe and evaluate diamonds.
To make this process easier, our team is always available to go over the detail of gemstone selection with you, and we’ve also created this online guide to diamonds to help you understand the key features used in evaluating them. Of course, we can source all stones for you, and you can come in to view and approve them before they’re set.
Setting and Metal Options
If you like the overall design of this piece, but you want to make some minor adjustments so that it’s a better match for you, there are several options to consider. For instance, you can add some milgrain beading around the diamond to reinforce the classical overtones already present. Or you could take things in a more contemporary direction by switching to white gold or platinum for the setting.
No matter what you decide, though, our team will work closely with you throughout the custom design process. Once we have a good sense of your style and feature preferences, we’ll put together a CAD model of the piece we propose to build. You can view this and request changes as many times as you’d like, and only once you’re completely satisfied with our model will we turn your project over to our expert artisans to begin production.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
