Silver Alligator Fresh Water Carved Pearl Necklace
Item #103313Pendant Description
Carved Pearl
The main body of this pendant is composed of an 11mm fresh water pearl, and it’s linked to the chain by a minimal bale that attaches to the top of the pearl. Moving down the sides, the pearl is carved, with jagged, zig-zag grooves representing cracks of varying lengths. These all start in different places, but they end at the uneven bottom surface, which is where the alligator emerges.
The carved cracks in the pearl make clear that it’s meant to represent an egg, and the relatively large size of the pearl allows for the addition of these details and the subtle shaping while still maintaining a satisfying size for the piece overall. Pendants
Emerging Aligator
The alligator that emerges from the bottom of the pearl is made from sterling silver, and it’s also carved in exquisite detail. The bumpy skin, elegant claws, and curling body are accented by black antiquing that help to highlight the design of the engraving. The face of the alligator in particular is perfectly detailed to create its intense gaze, and the dynamic curves of its body give the distinct impression of motion.
This is a unique, contemporary design that takes traditional materials and combines them in new and innovative ways. The contrast between the soft sheen of the pearl and the complex texture of the silver brings more depth to the design, and it also helps to reinforce its organic overtones.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
