Description

This elegant engagement ring features an oval blue sapphire set in white gold, with pave set diamond accents on the split shank. It was created for a client from Seattle, WA, who found our engagement ring design #101982 and used it as his inspiration in developing this piece. We worked with him in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom, as well as online to make sure we got every detail of the ring just right, and after a slight adjustment to our initial set of CAD images, he gave approval to move the project into production.

Sapphire Center

The 5.16 carat oval blue sapphire at the center of this ring displays a stunning blue fire that contrasts wonderfully with the 14k white gold it’s set in. The four double claw prongs cradling this exquisite gem wrap around the edges and then come to a point, which complements the sapphire’s shape nicely as well.

Although diamonds are most often used as the centerpieces in engagement rings, sapphires are an excellent alternative. They give you the opportunity to introduce any one of a number of different colors, and they are almost as hard as diamonds, so they can ably handle the rigors of daily wear. Sapphire Engagement Rings

Diamond Accents

Pave set round diamonds run down the shoulders of the split shank, angling to a stop just where the band divides. The way these accent stones ended was the one adjustment the client made on our initial set of proofs, and the direction he decided to go helps make the transition consistent with the angles found elsewhere in the piece.

Our client also eliminated pave set diamonds from below the center stone, where it was found on the inspiration piece, and this change helped push the ring design in a more contemporary direction. The shape of the center setting is also different due to the altered contours of the center stone from the original design. Design Your Own Engagement Ring

Customize

Use this design as a starting point for a custom piece.

Discuss the stones, metal, proportions, setting and finish with a designer, online or in our Seattle and Bellevue showrooms. You can bring reference photographs or your own stone for us to assess.

  1. Design and estimate

The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.

  2. 3D design review

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.

  3. Physical model

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.

  4. Approval and production

The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.

Quality

Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

Structure and support

Diamond and gemstone selection
We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
Final inspection
Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.
