This beautiful engagement ring features a diamond solitaire in the center, accented by smaller diamonds running down the sides of the shank. It was originally custom designed for a client, and the combination of elements included highlight the diamonds themselves to make a dramatic statement.

Solitaire and Tapered Diamonds
The diamond at the center of this piece is a stunning 3.71 carat stone in a round brilliant cut. Its sparkle is enhanced significantly by the accent diamonds running down the shank, four on each side. These taper in size as they move away from the main setting, giving a smooth flow to the overall design. Diamond Engagement Rings
Shared Prong Setting
This ring utilizes shared prong settings for all diamonds, which means that each set of two prongs is holding one side of two different stones at the same time. That configuration creates a more open look that allows the beauty of the diamonds to really shine through. Especially when viewed from the top, the stones in this ring take center stage thanks to their settings and configuration.
Square Shank
Because there are so many large stones in the top half of this ring, we recommended the client go with a square shank. This helps to keep the ring upright on the finger, which makes it an especially good choice when there is a lot of weight at the top of the piece.
Also due to the number and size of stones involved, we made the band itself from platinum, which is quite strong but lightweight. That allowed us to set the stones securely while not adding too much to the overall weight of the ring.

Design and estimate

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
