Description
This stunning engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond prong set in platinum, with additional diamond accents on the gallery and on the shank below. It was created for a client from Seattle, WA, who brought us an existing ring that he wanted to use the diamonds from in a whole new setting.

We worked with him to find a design he liked, and we built our models around the center stone he provided. The accent stones from his existing ring proved to be a bit too large to integrate into the new piece, and so we sourced some new stones to complete the design. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Center Setting
The diamond at the center of this ring is 1.12 carats and round brilliant cut. It’s prong set in platinum, and the sides of the prongs as well as the gallery below the center are accented with small split prong set diamonds. These bring a wonderful sparkle to the piece, and they add a truly glamorous flair.
Diamond Accents
On either side of the main setting, a small outcropping of metal rises up slightly above the shank shoulders to hold three round diamonds bead set in a half-moon shape. This was the area that the client wanted to use the accent diamonds from his existing ring, but their somewhat larger size didn’t fit within the ideal proportions we built the piece to reflect. French cut set diamond accents begin at the edges of these half-moon outcroppings, and they continue in a line all the way down to the half-way point on either side. These complete the glamorous look by tying in to the diamond accents that cover the center setting, and they add some classical flair to the design as well.
Metal Options
Initially the client had requested we make the ring in rose gold, but after giving it some thought, he asked to see renderings of what it would look like in platinum as well. Although he liked both options, he ultimately decided to go with the elegant white of the platinum.
If you’re interested in customizing this piece, one change to consider would be going with the rose gold for the setting and band. This would reinforce the vintage themes already present throughout the design, and it would also create a lovely contrast with the brilliant white sparkle of the diamonds. Vintage Engagement Rings

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
