Center Setting
At the top of this ring, a round brilliant cut diamond is prong set in 14k white gold, and the openness of the setting provides a perfect view of the stone from all sides. It also ensures that plenty of light reaches the diamond, thereby increasing its brilliant sparkle. The prongs holding the diamond are an extension of the split strands of the shank, and these rise smoothly up from below, contributing substantially to the overall flow of the design. Pave Set Diamonds and Band Design
The four strands that eventually make their way up to form the center setting break off at about the mid-point on the band. They continue up straight briefly before angling out so that they’re able to accommodate the large diameter of the diamond at the top. Below the split, the band tapers swiftly down to about half its width in the middle for a more comfortable fit.
Between the side strands that split off on each side, a middle band continues around in the original curve of the ring. This allows it to cross directly underneath the center diamond, forming a bridge-like shape as it connects to the same spot on the opposite side. This bridge piece is pave set with small round diamonds, and these bring a decidedly glamorous flair to the design while sending even more light up onto the larger diamond as well.
As a finishing touch, a circle made from eight pave set diamonds sits on each ring front right below the main setting. These tie in nicely with the shape of the band, and they also echo the wonderful sparkle of the pave set bridge to give the design a satisfying balance.
