Blue Sapphire Engagement Rings
Diamond Center
A one carat round brilliant cut diamond sits atop this piece, and the four prong platinum setting holding it in place rises nearly straight up from the base of the cathedral shank below. The shank shoulders come up almost half-way on either side of the stone, but they do not touch it, and this helps to cement the position of the diamond as the centerpiece of the ring.
Diamond and Sapphire Accents
The shank shoulders are channel set with round white diamonds and princess cut blue sapphires in an alternating pattern that includes two sapphires for every one diamond. The lovely contrast between the colors of these gemstones adds a wonderful dynamic to the design, and the cut and placement of these accent stones is mirrored in the design of the companion engagement ring we made to complete the set. Matching Wedding Sets
Whether you’re ready to have both rings in your wedding set made, or you just want to focus on the engagement ring at this point, we’ll guide you smoothly through the custom design process. And even if you’re only working with the engagement ring right now, it’s a good idea to think about the kind of wedding band you’d ultimately like to have go with it, as this can inform some of the design decisions you’ll make concerning the engagement ring.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
