This elegant engagement ring features an oval diamond center, set in platinum, with additional diamond accents and hand engraving. It was created for a client from Des Moines, WA, who worked with our custom jewelry team, both online and in person at our Bellevue, WA location through many iterations of the design until we had it just right.

Center Diamond
This ring is built around an oval center diamond, which is a traditional choice for engagement rings. The stone used here is a 1.63 carat oval cut, held securely in a four prong setting that rises up from a split cathedral shank. Cathedral Shank Ring Collection
Oval diamonds are becoming more popular of late, due in part to the way they make your finger appear longer when worn. The oval shape also works well in this ring, as it balances nicely in the space created by the diverging pieces of the band.
Diamond Accents
Adding to the overall glamour of the piece are dozens of additional diamonds bright cut set down the split shoulders of the shank. These help intensify the sparkle of the center diamond, and the delicate milgrain framing them on each side gives the ring a sense of completion as well as a vintage feel. Diamond Engagement Rings
Hand Engraving
Much of the shank that isn’t taken up with diamonds is covered by a beautiful hand engraving that was completed by our skilled professionals to match exactly what the client wanted. Because this type of custom metalwork is added as the final step in the production process, we can guarantee an exceptional level of detail and include just about any type of pattern you’d like to see.

Because we could incorporate all of her feedback quickly into the 3D renderings, we were able to design and produce the ring of her dreams to her complete satisfaction.

Design and estimate

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.
Lifetime warranty and care
- Lifetime warrantyYour custom piece is covered against manufacturing defects.
- Inspection every six monthsOur jewelers inspect your piece and provide ongoing care for the custom jewelry we make for you.
- Complimentary cleaningVisit us every six months for a complimentary cleaning.
Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
