This stunning men’s wedding ring features alternating sections of channel set princess cut black and white diamonds running all the way around the platinum band. The design originated as a custom piece for a client from Key West, FL, who shared some inspiration pieces with us to start the custom design process.

Since he couldn’t come into our Bellevue, WA showroom personally, we collaborated through the online workroom, taking full advantage of all of the high-tech tools at our disposal to ensure the ring we created for him was exactly what he wanted down to the very last detail.
Alternating Diamonds
One of the most striking features of this piece, and one that we didn’t hit upon until the ring was nearly complete, is the alternating sections of black and white channel set diamonds. Initially, the client wanted all black diamonds broken into these groups of three, but after consulting with his partner, he decided to go with the alternating sections.
This combination changes the whole complexion of the piece and gives it quite a bit more character. It also allows for the introduction of the traditional white diamonds, which have a special place in wedding rings thanks to their association with romantic love and purity.
Style and Finish Options
The band includes small triangular cuts that intersect the solid metal sections at regular intervals and add a new level of complexity to the design. It gives the ring a much more modern feel, and that’s only accentuated by the high polish finish.
However, if you like this idea but want to take it in a more classical direction, one option could be to eliminate the cuts and switch to a bright cut setting for the diamonds. And taking things a step further, you could even go with yellow gold to add some warmth and vintage flair.
Changing up the finish is another subtle but substantial way to alter the look and feel of a piece. The client originally chose a brushed finish for this ring, but after giving it some thought and discussing it with his partner, they decided they liked the polished look better.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.

- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.

- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
