Yellow Sapphire Center
The sapphire at the center of this ring is a nearly 2 carat cushion cut stone with a delicate yellow color, held securely in a four prong setting. These gems are associated with virtue, devotion, and prosperity, making them an excellent choice as an alternative to a solitaire diamond in an engagement ring. The squared cushion cut of this particular stone also works well with the other design elements of the ring to create a lovely vintage feel.
Diamond Accents
Surrounding the center sapphire is a squared halo of micro-pave diamonds. This type of setting contributes significantly to the classical vintage look of the design, and it also adds exceptional sparkle to the piece. The halo itself curves away from the center towards the shank, which works to enhance the impression of the center stone rising up out of the band.
In addition to the halo, round brilliant cut diamond accent stones also run down the shoulders of the shank in bright cut set rows. These are arranged in a half eternity pattern, which adds extra sparkle and also another layer of symbolism to the ring.
Detailed Metalwork
While the gemstones are likely what will first catch your eye when you see this piece, it’s the detailed metalwork that really helps tie everything together. Lining the halo as well as the accent diamonds on the shank is a delicate milgrain beading that also contributes to the vintage theme of this ring.
