Description
This elegant ladies’ fashion ring features an oval white sapphire prong set in platinum, with two half-moon diamonds completing the three-stone setting. He initially came into our Bellevue, WA showroom to get the custom design process underway, and we later shared some CAD models of his design with him online to get his feedback. He was very happy with these renderings, and he quickly gave approval to move the project into production.
Center Sapphire
The centerpiece of this ring is a 6.50 carat oval white sapphire, and it’s held in place by six platinum prongs. The stone has a slightly golden hue, which is accentuated by its proximity to the brilliant white of the platinum setting and accent diamonds, creating a lovely and delicate contrast.
The clients already had this sapphire, and so we built the ring around it, including features meant to highlight its beauty. The simple elegance of the basket below the main setting, for instance, gives the piece a subtle complexity while maintaining the focus on the sapphire at the top.
Diamond Accents
On each shank shoulder, a half-moon diamond is prong set, with its flat edge up against the side of the center sapphire. These accent stones complement the color and shape of the larger gem perfectly, and they facilitate an easy transition from the wide main setting to the narrower band below.

Design and estimate

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.
Lifetime warranty and care

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
