Amethyst Stud Earrings
Item #102661Earrings Description
Amethyst Centers
Each of these earrings is built around a round checkerboard cut amethyst that’s bezel set in 14k rose gold. The two stones together total 1.50 carats, and their tantalizing purple color contrasts beautifully with the pinkish glow of the surrounding metal. The pattern of facets across the tops of the stones is what creates their distinctive checkerboard appearance, and this adds to their dynamic visual appeal, as it results in a pattern of light and dark areas that changes continuously based on the angle the stones are viewed from.
Filigree and Milgrain
While the amethysts dominate the fronts of the earrings, the backs of the stones are enclosed by intricate filigree baskets that add substantially to the vintage feel of the set. These baskets are lined with milgrain beading to help highlight their elegant pattern, and larger decorative beads also fill spaces within the filigree to add another layer of texture and complexity to the design. Tying all of this together is the line of milgrain beading that runs around the top surface of the bezel setting holding the amethysts. Earrings
Customization Options
When you’re customizing a set like this, you have several options to consider. For instance, you may want to adjust the color dynamic by choosing yellow or white gold rather than the rose gold used here. You could also experiment with a different shape for the center stones, as using an oval, pear or cushion shape could all bring a different feel to the set while keeping most of the general framework of the design intact.
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
